LC Attenuator Types And Application

Fiber attenuator LC is a passive fiber optic device used to reduce optical signal power. They are used to attenuate the input optical power, preventing distortion in the optical receiver caused by excessive input power. They are primarily used in fiber optic communication systems.

  • Attenuation Value: Measured in decibels (dB), it represents the degree of signal power attenuation. Choose an appropriate attenuation value based on the optical link requirements, usually ranging from 0 to 30 dB.
  • Insertion Loss: The power loss when the signal passes through the attenuator; the lower the better. Choose products with lower insertion loss to minimize signal loss.
