5G base stations are the core equipment for achieving wireless signal coverage, consisting of three parts: AAU (active antenna unit), DU (distributed unit) and CU (centralized unit). Among them, AAU is responsible for the transmission and reception of RF signals, DU processes baseband signals with strong real-time performance, and CU completes non-real-time tasks and high-level protocol management. The minimum bending radius of G.657.B3 fiber is 5mm, which is 1/4-1/2 of the bending radius of G.652 fiber. G.657B3 cable is soft and smooth, and there is no shape residue after repeated bending. It is suitable for wiring in small spaces and is compatible with G.652D fiber and mainly used in high-density wiring scenarios.
5G base stations can use G.652D fiber, but the wavelength division multiplexing system chooses G657A2 high-bend-resistant fiber; the backbone network long-distance transmission chooses ultra-low loss optical fiber G.654.E, with attenuation ≤0.19dB/km (1550nm), effective area ≥110μm², supports 400G ZR/ZR+ optical modules, and the non-electrical relay distance is increased by 40%. Indoor micro base stations and data centers choose single-mode G.657B3 ultra-bend-resistant fiber and multimode OM5 fiber.
The performance parameters of base station optical fiber products mainly include two categories: optical fiber body performance parameters and optical module parameters.
