Bare Fiber PLC Splitter

 

PLC (Planar Lightwave Circuit) optical splitter for divided equally or converge optical signal. The design of planar waveguide technology provided a low-cost optical splitter solution with a small package and high reliability features. Bare fiber splitter is mostly not used separately, it will be used in fiber optic splice enclosures, distribution boxes, or related fiber optic products. Because it is only bare fiber 250um, it is fragile and easy to break, so need better protection.

How to add connectors on bare fiber splitter?

Bare fiber is 250um single mode fiber, it is thin and fragile, not suitable to add connectors directly, but we can put on aobut 1-2cm length 900um loose tube  to protect the fiber, then add connectors, then it can polish and grinding the connector end face. See below details:
