Connector parts for all connector are mainly include kits: Dust Cap, Green Outer Housing, Ferrule Assembly, Spring, Small Transparent Tube, Inner Frame, Clip, Riveting Ring, Heat Shrink Tube, White Boot, etc. There are very small differences between different connectors.

SC stands for square connector with 2.5mm ferrule. The SC fiber optic connector housing is rectangular, fastening method is plug-in bolt type, without rotation, very convenient to use. It is made of engineering plastic that are resistant to high temperatures and not easily oxidized. SC connector is a connector standardized by TIA-568-A.

LC stands for Lucent Connector with 1.25mm ceramic ferrule. LC fiber connector is with a modular jack (RJ) latch mechanism that is easy to operate, namely a snap on (small) square interface. LC fiber optic connectors are very common in single-mode network equipment and generally used in optical transceivers. Because of its anti pull stability and compact size makes it is widely used in high-speed transmission and data centers.

FC stands for ferrule connector. The FC connector external reinforcement is made of metal sleeves, fastened with screw buckles, and use 2.5mm ceramic sleeve. Circular threaded joints are metal joints that can be plugged and unplugged more times than plastic joints. Generally used in telecommunications networks, there is a nut screwed onto the adapter. Currently, FC has been replaced by SC and LC connectors in most applications.

ST stands for Stab & Twist, it is a very vivid description, first insert and then tighten. The ST fiber optic housing is round, fastening methods is screw buckle. The ceramic ferrule and sleeve is 2.5mm too. ST connector is the mostly optical device we can see in multimode optical networks in most premises and local networks.
MPO stands for Multi Push On, it is a multi-core connector that usually arranges 12 core optical fibers in a row. MTP is also a type of MPO with brand US Conec. The standard is regulated by IEC 61754-7. The fiber cores now mostly used are mpo 8, 12, 16, 24, 32. MPO MTP connector is a type of optical fiber connector for high-speed 40G/100G transmission and data centers.

The E2000 connector is a push-pull coupling mechanism that includes an automatic metal shutter for dust and laser beam protection. It adopts an integrated design, with simple and fast termination, suitable for high safety and high-power applications. Yingda can provide E2000 connectors, adapters, fiber patch cord and pigtails that are compatible with DIAMOND (r&m) and Huber Suhner.

MT-RJ (Mechanical Transfer Registered Jack) connector is a duplex connector that uses pin alignment and comes in male and female versions. Made of a plastic casing and provided with precise alignment through its metal guide pins and plastic collar. MT-RJ fiber optic connectors provide lower termination costs and higher density for electronic devices and cable management hardware.

The MU connector is push-pull design with a 1.25mm sleeve and a self retaining structure. It has a pre assembled body and a precision molded housing, fixed in place by springs through floating rings of outer diameter.Because of small size, combined with MU fiber optic adapters, MU connectors are usually installed on fiber optic distribution boxes to achieve high-density connections.

Splice Connector
Fiber optic fusion splice on connector also pre-buried an optical fiber in the connector, and connection is fusion splice, but the fusion joint is inside of the connectors. On site construction, remove the connector boot, strip and cut the tight buffer, then fusion with the end of the fiber optic cable on fusion splicer. Fusing fiber with a fusion machine is commonly known as thermal fusion, which is a high-voltage discharge to fuse cut fibers together. Custom LC, FC, ST SC fiber optic splice connectors.

Fast Connector
Fast connector is a kind of field-assembled fibre optic movable connectors with fiber pre-polished and matching gel at the docking area, not rely too much on the fiber cut flatness, greatly reducing the requirement for operator proficiency with a few ftth fiber optic tool kits, convenient and repeatability. SC LC fast connector are widely used in the building, fiber to the home and other fiber optic cable deploy environments for optical cable termination due to its high success termination rate and high stability. International standards:GR326, IEC61300-2, ROHS, IEC61754-4, IEC61753-1 standards.

FAQ
How to name a fiber optic connector?
We name the connectors used for fiber optic cable like below: Connector type/Polish method. For example:
Item: Fiber optic connector name SC/UPC
Meaning: The front of “/” indicates the type of connector SC, and the back of “/” indicates the grinding method of the connector core end face. UPC stands for spherical grinding and polishing, and the joint section is flat.
And if you don’t know the difference of polishing method UPC APC PC, please explore more in article: APC Connector Features & Application.
Which connector boot color is used to identify an mpo-24?
For fiber optic connectors, if customer not specify, we will make all connectors boot compliance with the international standards:
- Singlemode UPC: Blue
- Singlemode APC: Green
- Multimode OM1/OM2: Beige
- Multimode OM3: Aqua
- Multimode OM4: Aqua or Violet
- Multimode OM5: Green
So for MPO-24 connector, if it is singlemode, most of the time the connector housing is blue or green, boot is black; if it is multimode fiber used, then will use beige, aqua or violet or green housing with black or same color as the housing.
However, customer can specify the boot color or housing colors, it is not fixed.
What is difference between lc and sc connector?
LC SC connector are both plastic housing fiber optic connector, widely used in ftth network, where can use SC, can use LC duplex connectors, due to LC outer dimension is half of SC, both SC connectors is mostly used in end termination with media converter, and LC connector is used more with SFP transceivers and data center with MPO cassette or breakout cables in racks.
What is the difference, st connector vs sc connector?
ST connector and SC connector is quite different from the appearance, application, usage, and cost. ST is metal round connectors, mostly used for multimode application in fiber patch panels, but SC is plastic square connector, and mostly used together with media converter or ONU ONT in user side.
What is the difference, st connector vs fc connector?
ST FC connector both metal round fiber connectors, and widely used in fiber patch panel for cable distribution and management. But the connector locking system differ a little, ST is with screw buckle, should insert the male connector and then rotate to lock it tightly. But FC connector is with screw threads, only need to rotate locking.
What is the difference, mtp vs mpo connector?
MTP connector and MPO connector are both multi push on connectors. MPO is develop and named by SENKO in Japan, and MTP is US CONEC brand and it is upgrade version of MPO connectors.
Currently, MPO produced in China has a very mature technology and can completely replace MTP connectors. At the same time, due to MPO connectors lower production cost and compatible with MTP connectors, now MPO connectors are more widely used.
If your project strictly require the use of MTP high-precision connectors, and your equipment is from USCONEC, suggest to use MTP connectors. If not, MPO connectors is definitely enough.

What Is The Difference Between Fast Connector And Fusion Splice-On Connector?
Fast connector pre-buried a section of optical fiber frm the ferrule top to the connector internal V groove, on site construction, strip the cable and insert bare fiber into the V groove to realize connection through the matching oil. This method is commonly known as cold splicing.
Fusion splice on connector also pre-buried an optical fiber in the connector, and connection is splicing with a fusion splicer then protect the fiber joint with heat shrink protection tube, this method commonly known as thermal fusion, which is a high-voltage discharge to fuse cut fibers together.
What Is The Difference Between Fast Connector And Mechanical Splicer?
Mechanical splicer is the same structure as fast connector, outer appearance are similar, but it does not have movable interface / connectors. When connection fiber and fiber or fiber with pigtails, it make direct fixed connection at optical link node, the junction loss of about 0.1dB ~ 0.2dB. It is more convenient and flexible in indoor wiring or limited space deployment.
