CEx WDM Module (Coexistence WDM Module) is a coexistence wavelength division multiplexer device used for PON (Passive Optical Network) upgrades. It is designed to allow different generations of PON technologies, such as GPON, XGS-PON, and NG-PON2, to be transmitted simultaneously on the same optical fiber.
It is a transitional technology wdm that enables coexistence between old and new networks during network upgrades, facilitating smooth upgrades and saving fiber resources.
Core Features and Functions
- System Coexistence: This wdm multiplexer can mix and transmit specific wavelengths of GPON, XGS-PON, OTDR, RF video, and NG-PON2 on the same optical fiber, allowing multiple PON technologies to be used without replacing the existing infrastructure.
- Smooth Upgrade and Compatibility: Provides operators with a smooth evolution path from traditional PON (such as GPON) to next-generation PON (such as NG-PON2).
- Low Loss: CEx WDM modules typically have low insertion loss to ensure stable signal transmission.
The CEx WDM module is mainly used for network transformation from the OLT end to the ONU end, and is a key component for building a high-bandwidth, multi-service shared access network.

Yingda offers various CEx WDM modules that can integrate GPON, XGPON, XGSPON, RF-VIDEO, OTDR, and other functions. There are mainly 3 types package:
