Adapters must be compatible with various fiber optic connector interfaces, such as FC (metal thread lock), SC (square plastic housing), LC (small high-density), and ST (bayonet screw lock), to ensure compatibility with other devices.
Adapter Fiber Optic Endface Polishing
There are 3 types of fiber end face: PC (micro-sphere), UPC (ultra-flat), and APC (8° tilt angle).
- UPC and APC are both used for single mode fiber. And APC (green housing) has a return loss of ≤-60dB and is suitable for high-sensitivity scenarios such as CATV/PON.
- PC is mainly used for multimode fiber, according to the different fiber type, the adapter housing color differs. OM1/OM2 beige, OM3 Aqua, OM4 Violet / rose red, OM5 Lime green.
