Details of PON Splitter 2×8
The central part of the product is a rectangular, multi-layered metal enclosure. This enclosure safeguards the internal planar lightwave circuit (PLC) structure, which is crucial for splitting optical signals. The enclosure protects the delicate internal components from physical damage, dust, and moisture, ensuring the stable operation of the splitter.
There are two input fibers, distinguishable by their orange-sheathed coating. These fibers are responsible for carrying incoming optical signals into the splitter module. The orange color helps technicians quickly identify the input ports during installation and maintenance.
Eight output fibers, covered with yellow-sheathed coating, extend from the other side of the splitter module. These fibers distribute the split optical signals to various destinations within the PON network. Additionally, blue and orange plastic wraps are used to organize and manage the output fibers. These wraps prevent the fibers from tangling, provide strain relief at the connection points, and make it easier to route the fibers neatly in fiber optic enclosures or distribution boxes.
