Details of Splitter LGX 1×8
It adopts the LGX form factor, which is a standard form factor for fiber optic components, allowing for easy integration into optical distribution frames (ODFs) and other fiber optic enclosures. The rectangular metal housing provides mechanical protection and stability for the internal components.
The LGX-sized (130mm*100mm*25mm) housing is designed to fit into standard slots, facilitating rack-mount or enclosure-based installation in fiber optic networks.
Splitter LGX 1×8 means it can split one input optical signal into eight output optical signals. This is a key component in passive optical networks (PONs) and fiber optic distribution systems, enabling the distribution of a single optical signal to multiple endpoints.
There is one input connector (the blue one in the picture) and eight output connectors (the black ones with green ferrules). The connectors are likely of a standard fiber optic connector type, such as SC (Subscriber Connector). The green ferrules suggest they may be designed for single-mode fiber applications.
The SC connectors provide a push-pull latching mechanism, ensuring secure and reliable connections, and they are easy to install and remove during maintenance or testing procedures. The white fiber pigtails attached to the connectors are optical fibers with a protective coating. These pigtails are used to connect the splitter to other fiber optic cables in the network.
About package
Each Splitter LGX 1×8 unit is enclosed in a transparent plastic bag. It shields the splitter from dust, moisture, and minor physical impacts during storage and transportation. The transparency allows for easy visual inspection of the product without opening the package, enabling quick identification of the item and checking for any visible damage.
The individual plastic-bagged splitters are placed in an orderly manner within the cardboard box. This organized arrangement helps prevent movement and collision between the units during transportation, minimizing the risk of damage. The green and black colors of the splitters are visible through the plastic bags, allowing for quick identification of the product type even in bulk storage.
