Details of Mini Plc Splitter 1×8
This is a 1×8 Mini PLC (Planar Lightwave Circuit) Splitter, which is a passive optical component used to split one input optical signal into eight output optical signals. It is packaged in a transparent plastic shell, which can protect the internal optical components from physical damage, dust, and other influences, and also facilitate visual inspection of the internal connection status. The fiber pigtails are properly arranged and protected inside the package to avoid fiber bending, twisting, etc., which may cause additional optical loss.
The input end has a green connector. From the appearance, it is an SC/APC connector. The green color and angled end face (APC) are designed to reduce back reflection, which is crucial for improving the performance of optical communication systems. The input fiber is a white-coated fiber. There is a label “IN” on it, which clearly identifies this as the input port of the splitter. The input fiber transmits the original optical signal into the splitter for subsequent splitting.
Each output end also uses green SC/APC connectors, consistent with the input connector type, ensuring good compatibility and low-loss connection with optical devices. These output fibers have different colors (such as red, green, blue, etc.), and each fiber has a number label (like “1”, “2”, “3”… “8”). These numbers are used to identify the eight different output channels corresponding to the 1×8 splitting function. The color distinction helps in quick visual identification and wiring during installation and maintenance, reducing the probability of connection errors.
Lastly, the PLC chip inside is the core component that realizes the optical splitting function. It uses planar lightwave circuit technology to accurately divide the input optical power into eight equal (or according to specific design proportion, but usually equal splitting for 1×8 standard products) output optical signals through waveguide structures on the chip.
