Structure of Blockless PLC Splitter 1×8
Inside the metal splitter module (the rectangular part with the label), there’s a PLC chip. This chip is the core, fabricated using planar lightwave circuit technology. It has a waveguide structure that precisely splits the incoming optical power into 8 equal (or as per design ratio, though 1×8 is usually designed for uniform splitting) output channels through optical interference and mode coupling principles.

Details of Blockless PLC Splitter 1×8
The splitter 1×8 is a passive optical component used in fiber optic communication networks. It evenly distributes an optical signal from 1 input fiber to 8 output fibers, enabling functions like signal splitting in PON (Passive Optical Network) architectures, fiber test systems, etc.
The green connectors are typically SC/APC type. SC connectors feature a push-pull latching mechanism for easy insertion and removal. APC polishing (with an 8° angle) minimizes back reflection, which is crucial for maintaining signal integrity, especially in high-speed, long-haul optical networks.
There are two main types of fiber cables visible. The blue-jacketed fiber is often the input side (the single fiber that carries the incoming signal to be split). The white-jacketed fibers are the output sides (the eight fibers that transmit the split signals).
