Details of XGS PON Splitter 1×9 85%/15%
The Unbalanced XGS PON Splitter 1×9 is a specialized optical component for XGS PON networks. It is specifically designed for XGS PON technology, operating within the appropriate wavelength ranges (typically including wavelengths for both downstream and upstream communications in XGS PON). This ensures that it can effectively handle the high-speed data transmission required by XGS PON, supporting both symmetric and asymmetric data rates as the standard demands.
There are multiple optical cables attached. These cables are typically made of materials with good optical transmission properties, ensuring minimal signal loss. The cables have different color markings (like blue and white visible in the following image), which help in identifying different ports or signal paths, facilitating correct installation and connection.
The splitter has a metallic or high-precision engineered body. One end features a connector (such as a pigtail connector) that ensures a secure and low-loss connection to optical fibers. The body is designed to be compact, making it suitable for integration into various optical network equipment and enclosures where space is at a premium.
It comes in a transparent plastic package, which not only protects the splitter from physical damage during transportation and storage but also allows for easy visual inspection of the product.
As a 1×9 splitter, it divides one input optical signal into nine output signals with an unbalanced power distribution. This unbalanced nature means that the output ports have different power levels, which can be advantageous in XGS PON networks where different optical network units (ONUs) might require different signal strengths based on their distance from the optical line terminal (OLT) or other network design considerations.
Key optical performance parameters include low insertion loss (to minimize signal degradation as it passes through the splitter) and high isolation between output ports (to prevent crosstalk between different output signals), which are crucial for maintaining the integrity and quality of the optical signals in the network.
