Rack Mounted PLC Splitter 1×8 Details
The splitter comes in a rack-mountable enclosure. The outer casing is a black, flat-faced, rectangular box. It is designed to be installed in standard 19-inch racks, which is convenient for integration into data center or telecommunication room rack systems. The dimensions of the enclosure are suitable for rack mounting, providing a neat and organized way to manage fiber optic connections.
It has a spacious inner space to accommodate the fiber optic splitting components and the pigtails. The internal structure is simple and practical, with proper slots and positions for fixing the splitter and arranging the fibers.
On the front panel, there are green fiber optic connectors. These are SC-type connectors, which are widely used in fiber optic communication systems for their good performance and ease of use. There is 1 input port (marked as “IN”) and 8 output ports (marked as “1~8” respectively) on the front, in line with the 1×8 splitting configuration. Additionally, there are some empty ports (marked as “9~16 OUT”), which could be reserved or for other configuration purposes.
The core component is the 1×8 PLC splitter. The splitter chip is labeled “1X8 PLC Splitter S/N: 20092700003”. PLC splitters are based on planar lightwave circuit technology, which can evenly split an input optical signal into multiple output signals with low insertion loss and good uniformity.
The chip is a small, rectangular component. It is attached to a substrate (in this case, fixed with adhesive tape on a flat surface), and the input and output optical fibers are connected to it. The optical fibers connected to the chip are thin, single-mode fibers, which are responsible for transmitting the optical signals to and from the splitter chip.
