FTTH patch cord are fiber optic patch cable used for fiber to the home. It uses bow type figure 8 cables or general-purpose indoor outdoor fibers, supports high-speed data transmission (bandwidth can reach 10Gbps), and has strong anti-interference capabilities, but requires connection to an optical modem device for signal conversion.
There are two main types of connections for FTTH patch cords:
Yingda manufactures a wide range of FTTH patch cord. Our production and testing standards primarily cover physical specifications, appearance requirements, classification parameters, length and attenuation testing, end-face 3D inspection, optical performance testing, connectivity, and durability testing.
International standards include IEC 60793, IEC 60794, CEI 61754, EN standards, ITU-T, ISO/IEC 11801, and IEEE standards.
Except indoor use, FTTH patch cables can be used outdoor with fiber splitter boxes and waterproof connectors like hardened Mini-SC, Slim, Opti-tap connectors.
During daily production, if the customer does not specify the cable structure, usually round cables with a diameter of 0.9mm, 2mm or 3mm with single fibers. If the customer has special requirements, we can also make other structures or outer diameters, such as multi-core mini cables, flat cables, bundled cables, figure 8 cables, indoor and outdoor cables, self supporting cables, etc. Some common cable structures are shown below:
There are 2 types of strength member for the FTTH flat drop cable: Galvanized steel wire or FRP.
The diameter of the galvanized steel wire is typically 0.4mm, while that of the FRP is 0.5mm, FRP can be KFRP, GFRP, KFRP is better tension strengthe with yellow color, GFRP is white color. When buying, please indicate which type do you need in advance, so as to offer best FTTH patch cord price.
For a 2x5mm flat fiber cable structure, the steel messenger wire is typically galvanized steel wire with solid 1.0mm to 1.2mm diameter or 7*0.33mm steel strands or 7*0.4mm steel strands.
Bow type FTTH fiber optic cables typically have 1, 2, 4, 8, or 12 fiber cores, with 1 and 2 fibers being the most commonly used. For home users, typical carriers typically install 1-core fiber. If you’re pre-installing by yourself, recommended to install 2-core fiber to provide backup lines or for future 25G and 100G network upgrades. For larger residences like villas, duplexes, and large apartments, 4-core fiber is recommended to accommodate surveillance equipment, phone lines, television, and broadband internet.
When pre termination with 2x5mm drop cable, firstly should cut off the messenger wire, and protect it with heat shrink protection tube, then to add connectors.
When pre termination with 2-core or 4-core FTTH drop cables, a breakout kit is required to split the bare fibers, and then pull through hollow conduits for protection, details as below:
The outer sheath of a FTTH cable is typically made of LSZH, and low-friction materials can be added to reduce drag. Based on national aesthetic preferences, patchcord FTTH cable are commonly available in three colors: black, white, and grey.
Additionally, the style and length of the fiber optic connector boot can be customized according to customer requirements. SEND INQUIRY.
FTTH flat patch cord typically use bend-insensitive single mode fiber G657A1, G657A2, or G657B3. G.652D is not recommended. G.657 fiber is designed for high-bend applications, with a minimum bend radius as low as 5mm (10mm for G.657A1, 7.5mm for G.657A2, 5mm for G.657B3).
In home applications, optical cables often need to pass through narrow ducts, corners, and furniture gaps. The strong bend resistance of G.657 significantly reduces the risk of macro bending loss.
G.652 fiber, on the other hand, requires a bend radius of at least 30mm to avoid signal attenuation. When the bend radius is less than 30mm, macro bending loss increases dramatically, potentially causing excessive optical signal attenuation at the drop-in section (measured additional loss can exceed 3dB). Misusing G.652 fiber for the pigtail from the fiber splitter box to the user terminal can be a major cause of weak light.

Yingda are FTTH patch cord factory for more than 10 years, top quality factory direct price will help you get more orders.
We only do TT in advance, no credit, hope understanding and support. Then we can focus on our product quality more to help build long term business partnership.
Suggest to use G.657A instead of G.652D, an furthermore, if extremely limited space, suggest to use G.657B3, which bend radius is the smallest to 5mm.
Singe mode fiber optic patch cable is suitable for long distance transmission, especially G.652D.
Yingda only focus on distributor, contractor, isp, no retailers, if you need small qty, please buy local to save cost.
